Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.
Matthew 18: 15 – 17
FACT: New report released by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill indicates that one out of every two sexually active young people can expect to become infected by a sexually transmitted disease by age 25. The study also revealed that sexually active teen’s ages 15 to 19 have the highest STD rates of any age group, and nearly half of the 18.9 million new STD cases in 2000 were among youths ages 15 to 24. For many, STD’s there are no cures and some have even become deadly.
God has a lot to say to His children about purity vs. sexual immorality in His Word. However, many in the church today are very knowledgeable on “Human Sexuality,” a relatively new field based on fraudulent science of Dr. Alfred Kinsey, but are clueless as to what purity looks like. The Matthew XVIII Group is a non profit ministry dedicated to alerting those within the church to the error of using “Human Sexuality” and encouraging Christians to rather rely on God’s standard of purity and His Word.
Matthew 5:8 states, “Blessed are the pure at heart, for they shall see God.” How effective has the church been over the last 50 years at stemming the tide of no-fault divorce, abortion, pornography, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, and now sodomy in America. Sadly, those within the church have the same problems and disease and divorce rates as the unchurched.
Joe Werner (Director of Family Life Ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church) and his wife Audrey (National Speaker for RSVP America and founder of The Matthew XVIII Group) have gone across the country speaking together and individually to various groups and share the root cause of the moral problems in this nation today. They share with parent’s practical tips on how to maintain and restore moral innocence to their homes and they share with teens, Satan’s plan to get them to lose their “purity” and offer practical ideas on our youth can keep their ways “pure.” Joe and Audrey have been married 19 years and have 4 children.
COMMENTS:
-
Joe and Audrey Werner have been asked to speak all over the country on the topic of purity. Here are just a few comments on their talks:
“I wanted to send a formal letter of thanks and appreciation for the presentation you gave us here at Focus on the Family. Clearly, much of the church needs a wake up call, and to hear God’s call to sexual morality….your presentation, sounds the alarm eloquently.” (Jerry Gramckow, Editor of the Abstinence Education Dept. at Focus on the Family)
“You opened our eyes to issues of today’s world and gave us tools to use to protect and educate our children.” (Beccy Kirtland, Discussion Coordinator of MOPS of South Holland, IL)
“To say the youth were receptive to this (message of purity) is an understatement. They are bombarded with immoral situations and attitudes daily and were excited to hear what God’s Word says about purity and sexual immorality.” (Peggy Kuzmar, Bible Class leader for Youth at St. Paul Lutheran Church Munster, IN)
