After years of researching the origins of sex education and finding Planned Parenthood, the Pornography industry and the Kinsey Institute I realized I needed to go a different direction. I had been passionate about sex education and had been diligent about teaching children in the schools and in the churches about sex. Once I realized that sex education was causing more problems than helping I thought to join the Abstinence movement. I attended my first training where I was taught how to take pictures of diseased genitalia to children to discourage them from having sex - because if they saw the consequences, they would not want to have sex sooner. The scripture that kept coming to my mind as I watched these slides, knowing they are being shown to children in Christians schools (the trainer said as young as 7th grade) was, "You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation." If that were the case, why take children to such obscene pictures? There is a problem with removing God's standard of modesty and reverence for the marital act and no one states the problem better than a physician who has not been afraid to take on the establishment, Dr. John Diggs. Read below to understand the problems that can occur when we're graphic with kids, even with a message that sounds like it would be a good thing to encourage: abstinence!

I am sure many of you are disturbed by the recent events at Penn State; a coach is accused of raping many children. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty, but what if the allegations are true? In watching the many news stories on this event there was one interview that was most disturbing and that was when the coach, the alleged perpetrator, explained his showering naked with boys. He said something to the effect that they were horsing around….it was harmless play. This brought back memories of an event that occurred in a Christian School many years ago and the Pastor who had to deal with the perpetrator in his school. Last year this Pastor introduced me at a seminar by saying, “I was in a foxhole when I met Audrey……” That foxhole he was referring to was a sex scandal that rocked his congregation; both church and the church school attached.

October is National Family Sexuality Education month for Planned Parenthood: a time when they encourage parents to talk to their kids about sex. With scores of "Christian" "sex education" programs out there encouraging parents to talk to their kids about sex, do you ever wonder why and when the church had taken on Planned Parenthood's message? Looking back historically before the Sexual Revolution (which officially started before the 1960's) children learned about God's life process through the birds and the bees. Who convinced the church to be on Planned Parenthood's side? Here are a few key points that Planned Parenthood has made and see if this does not sound identical to what Christian sex ed. advocates: ----"Regardless of your experience with the subject (of sex), you can and should be the primary source of information about sexuality to ensure your values are instilled in your children." ----"Research indicates that most children would prefer learning about sexuality from their parents rather than from the media or their friends; however, too often parents hesitate to speak with their children. ----"Know what is taught about sexuality in their schools, faith communities and youth groups." ----"Seek teachable moments to share your values. Remind yourself that it is O.K. to feel uncomfortable."

Pat Robertson, of The 700 Club fame, made the statement last week that it was o.k. to divorce your spouse if they had Alzheimer's. I don't remember saying in the marriage vow, "till dementia we do part?" I thought it was "till death us do part." However, Pat Robertson had a revelation (?) perhaps that Alzheimer's is like a death, which would explain why you could leave your spouse. Well having a mother who has had dementia (Alzheimer's is just one of many dementia's out there) for the past 20 years, I beg to differ with Pat on the value of life!

Over 14 years ago, I was a mom with my firstborn entering Kindergarten at a Lutheran elementary school. I found the Lutheran sex education program (which had been in the school for years) to be founded and developed with the help of Kinsey's science, Planned Parenthood, and the pornography industry. Through many letters, phone calls and meetings, I alerted the Lutheran Hierarchy and publishing company of my findings which was backed up by renowned experts in their fields: Dr. Judith Reisman (number one expert on Kinsey in the world), Col. Ron Ray (Former Assistant to the Secretary of Defense and constitutional lawyer), and Pastor Chris Mitchell (number one expert on Song of Songs in the Lutheran church). The reply I received over and over again from Concordia Publishing House was that their sex education series was "Christ - centered and Bible based" which I knew for a fact that it was not, but who was was I to question the Pastoral leaders, I was just a mom! However, I persisted for 14 long years and never...

A few weeks ago there was a story that hit FOX News and many of the conservative media picked up on it as well. The school board of Helena, Montana was trying to pass a sex education program for children in grades K-5 that would include teaching sexual orientations and positions among other graphic things. I was glad to see that there was a big outcry and now the discussion has been tabled until October. I was in a similar situation to the parents of Helena when I began to question the sex education that my elementary child was going to receive when he went to school. What I found was astounding: Planned Parenthood, the Pornography industry and most importantly the fraudulant science of a man by the name of Alfred Kinsey.

Thank you to the Reflections Of Moral Innocence class who allowed me to speak to you on the origins of sex education. I hope that you enjoy your future sessions. It was a pleasure to meet you all. Enjoy learning about teaching your children chastity, purity, modesty and self-control....the way we used to do things. Blessings, Audrey Werner
